What Is hypogonadism?
Hypogonadism is a condition where the body produces too little testosterone which can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, low libido, mood changes, and changes in body composition and metabolism.
Is TRT dangerous?
When TRT is supervised by a specialist with correct dosing and regular monitoring, it is generally safe. Risks mainly occur when large, infrequent doses are used, as this can disrupt normal hormonal processes. Small and consistent doses keep testosterone levels stable, which keeps side effects minimal.
Well-managed TRT can offer benefits beyond symptom relief, including support for cognitive health and potential protection against certain neurodegenerative and chronic disease risks.
Are there any side effects of TRT?
In normal doses, testosterone use typically does not result in side effects. Side effects such as acne, hair loss, and aggressive behaviour are usually observed only with overdosing. Overdosing can also negatively impact sperm production, fertility, and the body's ability to produce testosterone naturally. It's important to address lifestyle factors, including exercise and diet, before considering testosterone therapy, especially in cases of overweight and inactivity.
What is the optimal dose?
The optimal dose varies based on individual factors. Follow-up blood tests help monitor the treatment's effectiveness and ensure the correct dose.
Where can I pick up my medication?
You can collect your prescription medication from your nearest pharmacy.
How should I store TRT medication?
Store the medication in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Do not freeze the medication.
Can I get a refund if I am not eligible for TRT?
Testosterone therapy at Aetas is divided into two phases. Phase 1 is the startup phase, where blood tests and a medical consultation determine whether you are eligible for treatment. If you are not eligible for TRT, the doctor can discuss alternative treatment options with you. Since Phase 1 (including the blood test and consultation) is completed regardless of eligibility, no refunds will be issued.
How can I naturally raise testosterone levels?
Natural ways to increase testosterone include maintaining an active lifestyle, having a fulfilling sex life, spending time outdoors, enjoying social interaction, and getting plenty of hugs, laughter, and quality sleep. It is also beneficial to limit exposure to toxins and avoid ultra-processed foods. For individuals who are overweight, improving diet and increasing physical activity can be especially important, as excess weight can negatively affect testosterone levels.
Who is not a suitable candidate for TRT?
Individuals suffering from severe obesity, enlarged prostate, aggressive behaviour, substance abuse, or illness are not suitable candidates for TRT.
What if I'm already in TRT but want treatment at Aetas?
The process remains the same. Even if you are already receiving TRT elsewhere, you will still need to begin with Phase 1.
